More than sport
Thirty years on from a Sunday-league football club, Enfield Sporting Community is a place where people of every age find a game, a friend, and somewhere to belong.
Our Story
Enfield Sporting Community began as ACE Football Club in the 1990s. Over the years the name and format have evolved, but the heart has always stayed the same: bringing people together through sport.
Fast forward to COVID, when many felt isolated, our community came together. As restrictions eased, football thrived at Southbury Leisure Centre and across Enfield — from Pymmes Park to Jubilee Park to Ponders End Park — uniting players from 17 to 60, bound by passion, friendship, and the beautiful game.
What made these sessions special was the sideline spirit. Parents and children cheered together, creating bonds that went far beyond football. Many of those children are now proud players themselves, carrying forward the values first built on those sidelines.
It's not just football — it's belonging, pride, and community.
Our Aims & Objectives
Six commitments that shape everything we run — on the pitch, on the court, and in the community around them.
Youth Empowerment & Development
Provide a nurturing, inclusive environment where young people grow in confidence, character, and community through football, mentorship, and life-skills support.
Community Connection & Belonging
Bring communities together through inclusive sports and events that foster unity, shared pride, and mutual support across generations.
Health, Wellbeing & Inclusion
Promote physical activity, mental health, and social wellbeing for all — from young aged to 40-plus — through regular, engaging, and accessible sporting opportunities.
Leadership, Skills & Legacy
Empower individuals with pathways to leadership, volunteering, and self-development — cultivating future community leaders both on and off the field.
Collaboration, Sustainability & Governance
Build enduring partnerships with local organisations, schools, and volunteers to deliver impactful, sustainably-led community programmes rooted in shared ownership.
Advocacy, Awareness & Voice
Raise awareness of local needs, champion positive change, and connect communities to vital resources — serving as a trusted voice for the people of North London.
What we run
Four weekly programmes covering every age group, plus the cups and friendlies that bring the whole community together across the year.
